Senior .Net Engineer

As a Senior .NET Developer, you'll design, build, and ship AI-powered features across our platform. You'll work closely with product, data, and design teams to turn cutting-edge AI capabilities into reliable, production-grade applications. This is a hands-on role where you'll influence architecture, tooling, and best practices for how we build with AI.

What You'll Do

Design and develop scalable applications and APIs using C#, .NET 8+, and ASP.NET Core

Build and orchestrate cloud-native, distributed applications using .NET Aspire, including service composition, configuration, and local development environments

Integrate large language models (e.g., OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic Claude) into production systems

Build retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines using vector databases and embedding models

Develop AI agents and orchestration workflows using frameworks such as Semantic Kernel or Microsoft.Extensions.AI

Implement ML models in .NET applications using ML.NET or ONNX Runtime where appropriate

Engineer and evaluate prompts, and build testing frameworks to measure AI output quality and reliability

Use Aspire's built-in observability (OpenTelemetry, the Aspire dashboard) to monitor and troubleshoot AI-powered services, including LLM calls and latency

Optimize AI features for latency, cost, security, and responsible use

Deploy and maintain services on cloud infrastructure (Azure preferred) with CI/CD pipelines

Mentor team members and contribute to code reviews and technical standards

What You Bring

Required:

5+ years of professional software development experience with C# and .NET

Strong experience with ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework Core, and RESTful API design

Hands-on experience with .NET Aspire for building, orchestrating, and deploying distributed applications, including the AppHost, service defaults, and integrations (e.g., Redis, PostgreSQL, Azure OpenAI, vector stores)

Hands-on experience integrating LLMs or generative AI services into real-world applications

Working knowledge of RAG architectures, embeddings, and vector databases (e.g., Azure AI Search, Pinecone, Qdrant, pgvector)

Experience with Semantic Kernel, LangChain, or similar AI orchestration frameworks

Solid understanding of cloud platforms, preferably Azure (App Service, Functions, AI Foundry, Cognitive Services)

Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases

Strong grasp of software design principles, testing, and clean architecture

Nice to Have:

Experience deploying Aspire applications to Azure Container Apps or Kubernetes using the Azure Developer CLI (azd) or Aspire's deployment tooling

Experience with ML.NET, ONNX, or training and fine-tuning models

Knowledge of Model Context Protocol (MCP), function calling, and agentic AI patterns

Experience with Python for data or ML tasks

Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure as code

Understanding of AI safety, data privacy, and responsible AI practices

Front-end experience with Blazor, React, or Angular

Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Azure AI Engineer Associate)
