About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our infrastructure team in a European engineering hub. Reporting to the DevOps Team Leader, you will own end-to-end delivery of advanced infrastructure initiatives—from design and implementation through production hardening. You will tackle real-world challenges including migrating container workloads from ECS Fargate to Kubernetes without downtime, evolving Infrastructure as Code frameworks, scaling data-intensive pipelines, and enforcing robust observability and reliability standards. This role offers high autonomy, direct impact on global products, and the opportunity to set the technical bar for operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Architect and execute migration of container workloads from ECS Fargate to Kubernetes (EKS) with zero downtime.

Design and maintain modular Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and OpenTofu across multiple environments.

Evolve enterprise CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and OIDC federation to improve developer velocity and deployment safety.

Oversee performance, capacity and resilience of high-volume data infrastructure (ClickHouse, ScyllaDB, DynamoDB, RDS, Redis) and event-driven messaging.

Implement and enforce reliability and observability standards using telemetry tools (OpenTelemetry, Coralogix, Grafana).

Make data-driven tradeoffs balancing speed, security (least-privilege, zero-trust access) and cost efficiency (FinOps).

Collaborate across distributed teams to deliver secure, compliant and scalable cloud infrastructure.

Own operational responses, on-call rotations and incident management driven by signal, not noise.

Required Competence and Skills:

5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, Infrastructure or Cloud Engineering in data-intensive, high-throughput environments.

Advanced AWS expertise across compute, networking (VPC, DNS, segmentation), IAM and scalability patterns.

Production-scale Kubernetes mastery (EKS), including cluster design, optimization and heavy load management.

Expertise in Terraform (or equivalent) and scripting/software engineering in Python, Go or TypeScript; strong Bash skills.

Deep understanding of container orchestration (Docker, ECS) and modern CI/CD with safe rollout strategies.

Proven track record building observability and alerting stacks (metrics, logs, traces, SLOs) at scale.

Strong communication skills, pragmatic leadership and ability to work autonomously in high-velocity teams.

Nice to Have:

Direct experience migrating production workloads from ECS to Kubernetes.

Familiarity with EKS ecosystem tools (Karpenter, ArgoCD/Flux, KEDA, VPC CNI).

Experience operating wide-column or analytical databases at scale (ClickHouse, ScyllaDB).
