Senior Software Engineer — TypeScript

Client: US-based financial services company

Engagement model: Dedicated product team (small, long-term)

Duration: Long-term engagement

Location: Ukraine, Europe

Domain: Fintech — platform combining deterministic financial engines with LLM and in-house ML components (extraction, classification, prediction, anomaly detection)

Stack: Node.js, tRPC over Express, Prisma, PostgreSQL, Next.js App Router, AWS

Responsibilities:

• Own features end-to-end: data model, API, background processing, UI, production behavior
• Build AI-powered features: structured extraction, retrieval, tool use, agentic workflows — with output validation and clear boundaries vs. deterministic logic
• Design durable async pipelines: retries, partial failure, idempotency, unreliable third-party services
• Model and evolve relational data in PostgreSQL for auditable, historical domains
• Integrate in-house ML prediction/detection endpoints; handle timeouts and degraded responses without fabricating values; feed outcomes back for retraining
• Hold the engineering bar: test coverage, code review, CI gates, security scanning

Required Qualifications:

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Production TypeScript across the stack (Node.js backend + React frontend)
• PostgreSQL data modeling and live migrations in production
• Async/event-driven backend work: job queues, durable functions, or workflow engines
• Practical LLM experience in shipped products — known failure modes and mitigations
• Comfort consuming ML predictions in application code

Preferred:

• tRPC, Prisma, Inngest, Next.js App Router, AWS ECS
• RAG, embeddings, or LLM evaluation frameworks in production
• Hands-on ML experience: feature engineering, model serving, drift monitoring
• Document processing (OCR, PDF, structured extraction)
• Prior work in regulated or high-trust environments

Required Experience:

• Professional software engineering: 4+ years

Language Requirements:

• English: C1
• Ukrainian: desirable
