Description
We are seeking an AI Infrastructure Engineer to join our client's team, working on a backend platform within the UK insurtech space.
Responsibilities:
Design and take ownership of the platform runtime, including how agents are compiled, configured, and deployed at scale
Build the configuration layer enabling carriers to control and iterate on product journeys without requiring code changes
Own the data model underlying the platform's systems and tooling, ensuring the ability to rapidly meet evolving customer requirements
Define the security model, encompassing PII handling, data residency, and model access controls
Develop self-improvement loops, including performance tracking and automated evaluation across deployments
Establish the observability and audit trail infrastructure necessary for a regulated insurer to operate AI at scale with confidence
Continuously enhance the platform's engineering practices through automated validation, robust CI pipelines, and agentic review processes
Requirements:
At least 5+ years of demonstrated experience building substantial backend infrastructure
Well-formed perspectives on distributed systems, API design, and designing for auditability
Strong proficiency in Python and Go, with exposure to secure DevOps/CI-CD practices and observability/audit-trail implementation
Prior experience delivering robust systems to a large user base
Proficiency with LLMs and agent frameworks; prior experience shipping a production agent platform is not required, though a thorough understanding of the associated constraints is expected
A security-first design orientation, integrated into the design process rather than treated as a compliance checklist
Upper-Intermediate English proficiency or higher
