Senior PHP Developer

About the Role

Our client is a leading European company providing solutions for product, material, and logistics cycles, with a strong focus on recycling and sustainability. The company helps businesses manage recyclable materials responsibly, improve sustainability performance, and reduce the use of primary resources.

We are looking for a PHP Developer to join the product team and contribute to the development of an enterprise SaaS platform. In this role, you will primarily work on building new functionality, taking ownership of technical implementation, and continuously improving the product. Your main focus will be on backend development with Laravel while contributing to Magento-based web shop solutions where needed.

Responsibilities

Independently develop complex web applications and services using PHP, SQL, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS

Take ownership of the technical implementation of new projects after a comprehensive onboarding phase

Contribute to the further development and maintenance of existing systems

Develop and maintain backend applications

Contribute to frontend development where required

Develop and enhance Laravel-based logistics applications and Magento-based web shop solutions

Requirements

Must have

5+ years of professional experience in backend development with PHP and Laravel

Solid relational database skills (MariaDB/MySQL)

Product mindset — able to translate business needs into technical decisions

Structured, analytical, independent way of working

Strong written and spoken English

Nice to have

Experience working on enterprise or SaaS products

Magento 2.x experience

JavaScript/React frontend experience — a plus for this role, not required if you're backend-focused
