Akvelon is looking for an experienced Go / Cloud Software Engineer to join a long-term project for a global technology leader.

You will work on a Blade Compute Provisioning stream focused on cloud-native compute infrastructure and provisioning. The role combines software development in Go with hands-on work across Azure, Kubernetes/AKS, Linux, containers, and production infrastructure.

This is a good fit for an engineer who enjoys working beyond application code and is comfortable troubleshooting systems across both software and infrastructure layers.

The role also includes some DevOps responsibilities, so it’s important to be comfortable working with cloud infrastructure and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Go

Work with cloud-native infrastructure running on Microsoft Azure

Build and support solutions using Kubernetes / AKS, Docker/containers, and Helm

Work with Azure services such as Service Bus and Key Vault

Troubleshoot and resolve production issues across application and infrastructure layers

Work with Linux/Unix-based environments and compute infrastructure

Participate in infrastructure automation and CI/CD processes

Collaborate with engineering teams on reliability, security, scalability, and production readiness

Contribute to secure engineering practices for infrastructure and cloud services

Requirements

Strong commercial experience with Go

Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure

Practical experience with Kubernetes / AKS

Experience with Docker/containers and Helm

Experience with cloud-native and distributed systems

Good knowledge of Linux/Unix

Understanding of computer architecture and infrastructure concepts

Strong production troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Understanding of secure coding and application security principles

Good English communication skills

Nice to have

Experience with Azure Service Bus and Key Vault

Infrastructure as Code experience with ARM templates or Bicep

Scripting and infrastructure automation experience

Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines

Knowledge of enterprise compute hardware or edge servers

Experience with host attestation, firewall management, or platform security

Experience with monitoring, alerting, anomaly detection, or automated incident triage

Knowledge of Azure security, identity, and compliance

Experience applying AI/ML to monitoring, diagnostics, or threat detection

DRI / On-call rotation

This stream includes a DRI rotation, planned to start in mid-January 2027.

The rotation is expected to take place one week every four weeks. During a DRI week, engineers provide coverage within a 12-hour window: 8 hours are regular working hours, while the remaining 4 hours are on-call.

On-call time and active incident resolution outside regular working hours are compensated separately.

Working Conditions

Location: Portugal, Bulgaria, Croatia, Bosnia, Serbia, or Poland

Contract: Full-time, 40 hours per week

Duration: 6 months

Start date: September 17

Working hours: Flexible, with availability required until 7:00 PM CET
