Description
Location: Baku (with possible travel to London / client
sites)
We're looking for a Technical Business Analyst who thinks in detail, not just business
ideas — someone who can turn complex reinsurance requirements into precise, step-by-step specifications that
developers can build from without guesswork.
You'll work on CenataSure, taking ownership of your specifications from first draft
through to delivery, and working closely with developers, QA engineers and our UK-based colleagues.
This isn't a role for high-level thinking alone. You'll need to describe the “algorithm”
behind every requirement — the logic, the data behaviour, the worked examples — clearly and without padding. You'll
be trusted to work independently: checking your own work for gaps, and agreeing solutions directly with UK
colleagues without needing anyone to broker the conversation.
Responsibilities:
Translate business needs into clear, detailed functional specifications for
CenataSure
Describe solution logic step by step, at a level developers
can build from directly
Devise worked examples and test cases that prove
a specification — including against other people's specifications
Investigate data and validate solution behaviour using SQL
Spot ambiguities, gaps and edge cases before development starts, not
after
Agree and explain requirements directly with UK colleagues, owning
the outcome
Support developers and QA through build and
test
Help continuously improve how we write and structure
specifications
Requirements:
Most importantly: the ability to think and describe things step by step — the
detailed “algorithm” — not just business ideas in general terms
A
technical or mathematical background
Working knowledge of SQL — joins,
unions, grouping, selects — which we use often when talking to teams
Comfortable talking to developers in their own language, including reading shared
code
Ability to communicate requirements effectively to both technical
and non-technical stakeholders
Real attention to detail and staying power
- solutions and examples need to be thought through properly, even when it's slow going
Clear, structured, logical writing and explanation — concise rather than
padded
Genuine independence: comfortable checking your own work, building
test cases against others' specifications, and dealing directly with UK colleagues
A fast learner with a real interest in the domain
Comfortable working in a fast-moving, sometimes unclear
environment
A strong sense of ownership and
responsibility
Strong English and Russian, written and
spoken
Re/insurance experience is useful but not
essential
Interested candidates can send their CV to the
e-mail address in the Apply
for job button.
