Senior DevOps Engineer (GCP/Kubernetes) for Large-Scale European E-commerce Product

We are looking for an experienced DevOps / Site Reliability Engineer to join the team behind a mature European e-commerce marketplace focused on sustainable retail.

You will help evolve the cloud infrastructure supporting a large production platform, with a strong focus on scalability, stability, performance, security, automation, and developer productivity.

The role combines hands-on infrastructure work with close collaboration across engineering and product teams. You will work with Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD automation, observability, and cloud-native services while helping the platform grow and remain reliable.

Requirements:

Professional experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, Platform Engineering, or a similar role

Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform and Kubernetes

Experience with monitoring, observability, and system design

Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation

Hands-on Infrastructure as Code experience, particularly with Terraform

Solid understanding of production reliability, scalability, performance, and security

Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering and product teams

Strong ownership mindset and willingness to continuously improve systems and processes

Will be a plus:

Experience with Terraform/Terragrunt, Helm, and GitHub Actions

Experience operating service mesh technologies such as Linkerd

Familiarity with cloud-native messaging, managed databases, and caching services

Software or web application development experience

Experience supporting Ruby on Rails or React-based applications

Responsibilities:

Maintain and further develop the cloud infrastructure behind the marketplace

Ensure platform scalability, stability, availability, performance, and security

Improve and automate build, release, testing, and deployment processes

Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code

Improve monitoring, observability, and overall operational reliability

Collaborate closely with engineering teams and Product Owners

Evaluate and introduce technologies that improve platform capabilities and engineering efficiency
