About the Project
We are looking for two Senior C Developers to optimize a 30+ year-old legacy system used for processing cattle genetic data.
The system handles laboratory data through ETL pipelines and stores results in Db2. With a database of approximately 13 million records, processing performance has significantly degraded.
Responsibilities
- Analyze legacy architecture and identify performance bottlenecks.
- Refactor and optimize C code.
- Improve ETL processes and large-scale data processing.
- Optimize database interactions using Db2 and Embedded SQL.
- Improve multithreaded processing with Intel OpenMP.
- Use Claude Code as the primary AI development tool.
Requirements
- Strong commercial experience with C.
- Experience with relational databases; Db2 is a plus.
- Hands-on experience with Embedded SQL and Intel OpenMP.
- Strong performance optimization skills.
- Experience working with legacy systems.
- English B2+.
- Experience in AI-first development environments and willingness to use Claude Code daily.
Nice to have: Experience modernizing legacy systems and optimizing ETL pipelines.
Conditions
- Full-time, contract for several months.
- Working hours: 12:00–21:00 or 13:00–22:00 Armenia time.
- Collaboration with the CTO, Chief Data Officer, and engineering team.
- Client based on the US East Coast.
