Senior Software Engineer (Kotlin)

About the Role:

We are expanding our engineering team for a new manufacturing project focused on the development and implementation of a Manufacturing Execution System (MES). We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who will build reliable, secure, and scalable backend solutions and contribute to the product architecture from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain backend services using Kotlin.

Design application architecture and build new solutions from scratch.

Design and implement reliable, well-structured REST APIs.

Ensure application security, performance, scalability, and stability.

Participate in technical decision-making and contribute to engineering best practices.

Collaborate closely with business analysts, QA engineers, DevOps specialists, and other team members.

Requirements:

5+ years of commercial software development experience with at least one JVM-based language: Kotlin, Java, or Scala.

Strong experience with relational databases and data modelling.

Hands-on experience in designing and developing REST APIs.

Understanding of asynchronous data processing and distributed systems.

Knowledge of software design patterns and microservices architecture.

Basic DevOps skills and understanding of modern deployment processes.

English sufficient for reading and working with technical documentation.

Nice to Have:

Experience with non-relational databases.

Experience with AI-powered development tools.

Previous experience with MES, manufacturing, industrial automation, or production-related systems.

About the project:

You will join a growing team working on an MES solution for manufacturing operations. The project involves building the backend architecture and core services from scratch, with a strong focus on system reliability, security, scalability, and integration with production processes.
