Assisting in the installation and configuration of network hardware and software components.

Monitoring network performance and assisting in troubleshooting network issues.

Responding to and resolving help desk tickets related to network problems.

Participating in the implementation of network security measures and protocols.

Supporting senior network engineers in network design and planning activities.

Learning and applying networking principles and best practices.

Assisting in the documentation of network configurations and processes.

Participating in network maintenance activities, such as firmware upgrades and patch installations.

Collaborating with other IT staff to ensure seamless integration of network services with other systems.

Personnel specifications

Diploma: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field

Experience: Entry-level position; experience from internships or coursework in networking is a plus but not always required

Certifications: While not always mandatory, certifications like Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or CompTIA Network+ can be beneficial

Specific areas of expertise:

Basic understanding of networking principles, protocols, and equipment. Knowledge of TCP/IP, subnetting, and routing concepts is desirable
