September 2026 in numbers: 3,960 tech postings
In September 2026, 3,960 tech vacancies were first listed on soften.dev, from 49 job boards. More than two in three were remote. Backend was the largest discipline, with almost one posting in five. Of the 2,464 postings whose source stated a seniority, 436 were entry level. 26 were internships, and 535 named Baku.
These are the board's own listings, not a survey of anyone's job market. The rest of this post is what they add up to, what each number counts, and what none of them can tell you.
What was counted
- The window is 1 to 30 September 2026, in UTC, by the day a posting reached this board — not the date its source gave, which can be months older.
- Copies once. Identical copies of a posting under different ad numbers count once, in the month the first arrived, and so do duplicates merged here. Deleted postings are not counted. Two differently worded copies of one vacancy would still count as two.
- Tech roles only, which is all this board lists.
- All of them collected. No employer posted on this board directly in September, so every number below describes postings gathered from other boards, through the feed that how this board gets its listings describes.
By discipline
Every posting is filed under one of fourteen disciplines by what it is called, and what each discipline covers says which roles land where. Each share is of all 3,960.
- Backend — 760 (19.2%)
- Other Tech — 663 (16.7%)
- Data Science & ML — 406 (10.3%)
- Product & Project Management — 367 (9.3%)
- Data & Analytics — 307 (7.8%)
- Frontend — 269 (6.8%)
- DevOps & SRE — 236 (6.0%)
- QA & Testing — 219 (5.5%)
- Full-stack — 213 (5.4%)
- IT Support & SysAdmin — 189 (4.8%)
- Engineering Management — 101 (2.6%)
- Design & UX — 82 (2.1%)
- Security — 81 (2.0%)
- Mobile — 67 (1.7%)
Other Tech is second because it is two things at once: enterprise-platform work — SAP, ERP, Oracle, 1C, Salesforce and the like — and technology roles whose titles match none of the other thirteen disciplines.
Entry level
Seniority is only what a posting's source said, and 2,464 of the 3,960 said something: 62%. Of those, 436 were entry level — 18% — under the board's own labels:
- Junior specialist — 402
- Student — 33
- Graduate — 1
The other 2,028 that stated a level were Specialist (1,124), Mid-level (617), Supervisor (278), Manager (8) and Director (1). Separately, 26 postings were internships by employment type, whatever level they stated.
The 1,496 postings that stated no level are counted as neither junior nor senior, because nothing says which they are. On the listing, that means the seniority filter finds only postings whose source stated one. A posting can still say junior in its title without its source stating a level, so a keyword search is worth running beside the filter.
Who posted the most entry-level roles
No employer posted more than nine. Nine employers posted five or more, 59 of the 436 between them:
- GlobalLogic — 9
- Digital Classifieds — 8
- METAK — 7
- PwC Lviv SDC — 7
- Altum Software — 6
- Kapital Bank — 6
- Ті Джей Хелперс Україна — 6
- Inforce — 5
- Luxoft — 5
The other 377 came from employers with four or fewer each: entry-level hiring on the board was spread thin rather than led by a few large programmes.
Remote, and where else
2,692 postings were marked remote by their source — 68% of all 3,960. 555 named a city the board recognises (14%), and today that means a city in Azerbaijan, because those are the only cities it knows: Baku 535, Sumgait 6, two each for Khirdalan, Shirvan and Zagatala, and 8 elsewhere. A posting can be remote and name a city, be either, or be neither; one that names only a country, or a city outside Azerbaijan, is in neither number.
"Remote" is the source's flag, and it does not say from where. Whether a remote posting takes applicants from your country is in the posting itself, and the board does not check it.
What these numbers do not say
- Anything beyond this board. These are the postings its 49 sources published. A vacancy none of them carried is not here, and nothing here estimates how many such vacancies there are.
- Anything about pay. This board records no salary for the postings it collects, and none was posted here directly in September. That is why there is no salary figure in this post — it does not mean the employers published none.
- The seniority of 38% of postings, whose sources did not state it.
- A direction. One month is a level, not a trend; only a later month counted the same way can say which way things moved.
The roles open today are on the full listing, which narrows by discipline, city, seniority, employment type and remote status at once, and the form below sends whatever is new once a day.
